There are 3 committees made up of volunteers that operate in the park. These committees put in countless volunteer hours to enhance the “park experience” and fund various projects.
Lac Pelletier Social Committee (LPSC)
The LPSC organizes and runs annual events such as the Shake the Lake Cabaret, Run the Lake 5k Family Fun Run and the Bean Bag Tournament. The Social committee also run the Winter Tuesday Fun Nights at the park hall. Money generated from these events has funded events and projects in the park such as funding one of the Micro Chalets, construction of the Disc Golf course, construction of a double washroom at the Corral, purchase of the griddle for the July 1 Pancake breakfast, purchase of indoor and outdoor furniture and a smoker for the clubhouse, donations to the childrens program and fencing throughout the park just to name a few.
Lac Pelletier Golf Committee (LPGC)
Annually, the LPGC organizes and runs 5 golf course tournaments and the mini-golf tournament. The Golf Committee also coordinates the Competitive Golf League and the adult and children golf lessons. Funds raised through business sponsorship and tournament fees are used for improvements on the Lac Pelletier Regional Park Golf Course. The Golf Committee has financially contributed to the paving of the course cart paths, paid for the pond fountain and course consumable supplies and replaced and installed the course washroom flooring. Over the last 2 years, in partnership with the Board, the Golf Committee has financially supported the course tree planting project and volunteered numerous hours towards this project.
Lac Pelletier Seniors Activity Club (LPSAC)
The LPSAC was founded by local community members looking to develop pickle ball courts at Lac Pelletier. In 2016, the Park was approached to partner on the project by providing the land. The Seniors Club applied for and received a grant for ½ of the cost courts with the remaining funds raised through donations and fund-raisers. Countless volunteer hours were put in to the development of the courts and in 2017 they were officially opened for play. The Seniors Club continues to support the upkeep of the courts and through scheduled play, tournaments and formal/informal lessons encourages participation in the sport. Over the years the Seniors Club has expanded programming for members and non-members offering Line Dancing Classes and Fitness in Motion Exercise Programs.
